Automatic Programming EdgeLaser uses a Knowledge Base to achieve true Automatic Programming (AP). The programmer need only: 1. Select a DXF file 2. Specify the machine type 3. Select material and thickness 4. Click Auto Sequence EdgeLaser will then: 1. Select a cutting path for the geometry 2. Place leaders based on the Knowledge Base 3. Place the pierce point in a logical position 4. Assign cutting conditions from the Knowledge Base 5. Generate the CNC code 6. Display the CNC path The programmers then saves the CNC file. It is very easy to do.  Is it always the best method?  No.  Sometimes it is best to custom select the cutting order of the geometry.  However, EdgeLaser will still assign all the cutting conditions, placement of leaders, etc for the programmer.  Even then, the programmer can easily override those choices with the click of a mouse button. Even in cases where AP is not used, the programmer still benefits from it.  With AP, when the DXF file is loaded, all cutting information is assigned from the Material File. The Machine Condition file is read to verify the information being assigned.  In most cases, all the programmer really wants to do is choose the cutting sequence.  Once that is done, AP will take over to position pierce points and make sure leaders do not violate the part.  After that is done, the programmer can ‘tweak’ any pierce locations if so desired. Automatic Programming provides many benefits through the use of the Knowledge Base. Key Benefits: Knowledge Based Automatic Programming Easy Path Verification Minimal Training 24/7 Online Support
